IPL Retention 2022 – Players List with purse

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has announced the retention list of players for IPL Retention 2020.  The IPL is considered to be the world’s most-attended cricket league. The league was first formulated in the year 2007 and founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In fact, IPL is one of the most extravagant and certainly the richest T20 leagues in the world. The IPL paved way for most of the T20 leagues across the planet, such as the Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League, etc.,

In 2014 IPL was ranked sixth by average attendance among all sports leagues. In 2010, the IPL became the first sporting event in the world to be broadcast live on YouTube.

IPL is usually held between March and May of every year and has an exclusive window in the ICC Future Tours Programme. The brand value of the IPL in 2019 was ₹47,500 crore (US$6.3 billion), according to Duff & Phelps.

According to BCCI, the 2015 IPL season contributed across ₹1,150 crores (US$150 million) to the GDP of the Indian economy. The 2020 IPL season set a massive viewership record with 31.57 million average impressions. Along with an overall consumption increase of 23 percent from the 2019 season.

There have been fourteen seasons of the IPL tournament. The current IPL title holders are the Chennai Super Kings, last season. The IPL games would be generally conducted on different grounds across various countries and also across Indian playgrounds but the venue for the 2020 season was moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the last games were also played in the United Arab Emirates.
